Job description
Darling International Canada Inc., is Canada's largest provider of rendering and recycling services to the food industry, operating six processing facilities across Canada. Darling Canada provides essential services for the efficient and environmentally responsible management of collecting, processing and recycling edible and inedible animal by-products. Darling is committed to environmental sustainability, superior quality and excellent customer service.SCHEDULE: Rotating Shifts-Days, Afternoons and NightsDuration of Contract: 6 monthsPOSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Grease System Operator is responsible for used cooking oil (UCO) management, offloading, safe operation of the equipment, ensuring general maintenance in the workplace and plant support.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Offloading Used Cooking Oil from tankers and drumsOffloading products for rendering from trailers and straight trucksFiltering of finished productLoading trucks with finished product Meat Meal and TallowFollowing all Health and Safety protocolsFollowing all HACCP protocols including completion of all paperworkRequired to maintain, clean and keep orderly the departments.Ensure that shunt trucks, fleet tractors, and trailers are in a clean and presentable condition.Capable of driving heavy equipment and Ensure safe driving operations.Accurate completion and submission of all required paperworkResponsible for following all company health and safety rules and for communicating all reportable incidents.Responsible for effectively and efficiently dealing with issues that may arise including other duties, including plant duties, as assigned.Capable of managing efficiently and safely work functions on their own.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:Class G drivers' licenseProvincial Secondary School Graduate Diploma or greaterMust be flexible to work shifts as requiredExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as well as part of a teamStrong commitment to Darling Ingredients company valuesWE OFFER:Rate of Pay: $28.95/hr and overtime after 40 hoursDarling International Canada Inc. is committed to a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities where our facilities are located.
