Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain program cost tracking metrics
• Provide project managers with timely financial reports, budgets and project forecasts.
• Perform project cost analysis and forecast actual costs and future commitments.
• Develop standard costing metrics for the maintenance organization
• Analyze production costs and provide recommendations for improvement
• Analyze maintenance operations and equipment availability and utilization
• Perform month-end cost accounting support for financial close
• Work with finance team in maintaining project accounting, budgeting and capital planning systems.
• Monitor and control expenses within allotted project budget.
• Recommend changes in operating procedures to increase efficiencies
• Lead cost management policies
• Contribute to yearly operation plans and budgets
• Review program budgets with project managers to ensure all purchasing is tracked in alignment with modelling
• Compile, analyze and prepare various financial/statistical information and reports
• Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
Qualifications:
• Graduate from a University program with a Bachelors’ degree
• Professional CPA designation would be considered an asset.
• A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a similar role preferably in a multi-divisional organization
• Experience with project accounting and reporting for medium to large scale projects
• Demonstrated flexibility and able to adapt in a dynamic environment
• Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and effective time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to navigate in various software systems is required (Great Plains, WinAir would be considered an asset)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
• The ability to excel in a team environment and contribute to a diverse team
