Our client is searching for a Senior Accountant to work on a 24-month contract. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant are:
* Support Finance and Accounting team with month-end close process
* Support process to ensure account reconciliations and related analysis are completed on a timely basis
* Work with Finance and Accounting team to develop and enhance standard reporting for all legal entities
* Support projects to enhance existing financial reporting and accounting processes
* Support efforts to automate manual processes
* Support Director of Finance with ad hoc projects as required
The ideal individual is a designated Senior Accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience and ideally combined with some public practice work experience.
In addition to the above, the following skills are also desired:
* Public company accounting and IFRS experience
* Strong accounting and GL account reconciliation experience and assisting with month-end and quarter-end financial reporting
* Experience in preparing working papers to support month-end close, financial reporting and financial analysis
* Adept in working on special projects in the Finance Dept.
* Flexible and able to deal with shifting priorities
* Deadline-driven and accountable
* Effective communication skills with business partners and team members
* Ability to work well independently and not need a lot of guidance
* Collaborative and able to work effectively with other staff members
* Advanced Excel skills
