Job description
Position Summary
Are you a Clinical Dietitian looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Clinical Nutrition department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Clinical Dietitian provides nutrition care through nutritional assessment, goal setting, intervention, and counseling of inpatients, outpatients, residents and/or community care clients within professional scope of practice, and established policies, procedures and standards. Collaborates with members of the health care team. Provides orientation, guidance, and collegial information to others including peers, new staff, and students.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: T, W, Th, F, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

Qualfications
• Baccalaureate degree in Nutritional Science with a Major in Food and Nutrition from an accredited University.
• Completion of a dietetic internship recognized by Dietitians of Canada and the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
• Current registration with the College of Health Care Professionals of British Columbia.
• Valid BC driver's license for positions requiring travel.

Skills and Abilities:
• Comprehensive knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners established by the College of Health Care Professionals of British Columbia.
• Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based Clinical Nutrition practice related to clinical areas.
• Comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of other health care disciplines roles in client care.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently, quickly and accurately within time limitations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with (both verbally and in writing), and to deal effectively with co-workers, physicians, other health care professionals, clients and their families, and external agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team member, leader and preceptor.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
• Demonstrated ability to adjust to new or unexpected events.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and implement new projects.
• Demonstrated skill and ability to operate related equipment and techniques appropriate to clinical areas.
• Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Demonstrated ability to develop educational programs and materials.
• Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system.
