As Director, Land Development, you will manage the planning, engineering, and permit coordination process for land development projects. You’ll lead a team responsible for site planning, engineering criteria, and project delivery, ensuring alignment with Empire home building practices. Your role will be pivotal in communicating progress to senior leadership, maintaining project tracking, and supporting feasibility, visioning, entitlements, and construction management. This position offers unlimited growth potential within the company.
This role is based in Vaughan, Ontario, with regular travel to project sites and meetings with municipal partners.
What We Are Looking For
In addition to your expertise in land acquisition and development, here’s what we’d love to see :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Real Estate, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of land development project management experience within the low‑rise homebuilding construction industry.
- Ability to read, understand, and evaluate civil engineering / development plans. Solid experience in site engineering (water, wastewater, lift stations / FMs, drainage design). Thorough knowledge of municipal and provincial review processes for permitting and approvals.
