We are currently hiring for an experienced Cost Manager to work at our food manufacturing plant located in Langley, BC. This is a permanent opportunity with great benefits and perks! You will be reporting to the Controller and may have 2 direct reports. This is a fast-paced position, perfect for a talented Cost Manager looking to ramp up their career with a great company that will foster growth and development long term!

Your tasks as a Cost Manager :

  • Lead cost analysis & day-to-day costing operations, provide technical oversight and ongoing coaching / training to direct reports
  • Perform detailed analysis of inventory costing to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and reconcile inventory values
  • Investigate and analyze variances in purchase prices and usage of finished goods
  • Provide insights and recommendations for cost optimization
  • Production analysis (e.g time studies and process validation)
  • Conduct time studies and process validations to enhance production efficiency
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for improvement
  • Building product costs for new itens work closely with the product development team to establish accurate costs for new items and ensure timely and accurate cost info. is available
  • Inventory warehouse reports, reconciliation and journal entries
  • Reconcile inventory warehouse reports to maintain data accuracy
  • Prepare and post required journal entries related to inventory transactions
  • Quarterly Inventory Count Reconciliations coordinate and participate in quarterly inventory counts, conduct reconciliations and address any discrepancies

Job Requirements for Cost Manager or Costing Analysis

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Cost Manager within a manufacturing company, 5+ years of cost analysis experience
  • CPA designation strongly preferred, will consider candidates in pursuit
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and excel skills.
  • Great communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
