Job Description :

On behalf of our client Affinity is seeking an experienced Business Analyst who will act as a conduit between our business units, IT department and technology partners.

The individual will plan, manage and lead the delivery of detailed business requirements that align to the organizations standards and frameworks as it pertains to Climate Risk Assessment projects.

Relying on their solid skills and experience, they will work closely with ambitious and passionate business units and technology partners to deliver world class customer focused solutions.

  • Plan, prioritize, and execute business and systems analysis activities for Waterfall or Agile / Scrum projects.
  • Utilize appropriate elicitation techniques to facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholders.
  • Analyze potential system enhancements and create robust business requirements outlining necessary changes, desired outcomes, and potential benefits.
  • Support or lead the creation of project artifacts as required.
  • Gain a deep understanding of problems and develop clear requirements to drive accurate solution implementation.
  • Apply analytical thinking to pinpoint root causes of issues.
  • Take ownership of researching and identifying effective solutions.
  • Identify suitable tools and techniques to address business and operational challenges and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Coordinate UAT activities and assist with QA tasks such as defining test scenarios, test cases, acceptance criteria, conducting smoke testing, and reporting results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead initiatives focused on delivering improved business outcomes and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Develop plans and accurate estimates for requirement completion, continuously enhancing the level of detail and accuracy.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, and constraints related to requirements and communicate effectively with stakeholders and partners.
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholders to drive business and systems requirements discovery, analysis, and review.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead the implementation of quick wins.
  • Serve as a change agent.
  • Complete business analysis documentation such as BRD, RTM, user stories, process flows, test cases, etc.
  • Contribute enthusiastically to building the Business Analysis Center of Excellence and IT PMO.

Top Skills Necessary

Business Analysis 7+ years of experience facilitating collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholder groups to drive both business and systems requirements, process mapping and process development (as is / to be), change management, creation of user guides / procedures and creating and supporting user training.

Experience in understanding and climate-related risks and their mitigation - 5+ years of experience identifying and managing climate-related risks through appropriate governance and risk management practices, defining and performing climate scenario analysis (use hypothetical future states of the world to assess the impact of climate-related risks on the institution’s operations) and defining requirements for climate-related financial disclosures (implementation of effective disclosure practices to communicate climate-related risks and their implications).

Climate impact analysis for Financial institutions 1+ years of experience analyzing and assessing potential impacts of climate-related risks on federally regulated financial institution’s business models and strategies including defining requirements to ensure financial and operational resilience even under severe, disruptive, and plausible climate risk scenarios.
