Summary :
Trimac Transportation's Toronto Service Center is looking for a Dispatch Support intern to assist with Trimac's dispatching systems.
This position is to assist a current student in learning dispatching and obtaining logistical experience in transportation.
The candidate will be learning to work with our dispatch applications that assist our trucking business.
The Intern will be reporting to the Dispatch Manager.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
Ensure the company meets all customer requirements and any changes are communicated immediately.
Ensure the dispatch system is up to date.
Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in the transportation management system in an accurate and timely fashion.
Ensure that invoicing and driver pay are completed daily.
Audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.
Ensure service failure reports are recorded in the transportation management system and brought to the terminal manager's attention or designate.
Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and job requirements.
Ensure that the drivers have adequate time to perform their duties safely and within the hours of work regulations.

Requirements / Education Studies :
Current student in Supply Chain Management or equivalent field.
No experience required.
