We are presently accepting resumes for a Permanent Full-time Treatment Home Support Worker Awake Nights to provide quality supports to individuals residing in the Treatment Home during awake overnight shift. Follow identified strategies in treatment plans to meet the direct needs of the individuals living in the home, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Empower Simcoe and legislative requirements.
Compensation package :
- Work up to 42 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts;
- Required to work weekends and public holidays as scheduled;
- Minimum starting rate of pay is $33.83 per hour;

Following the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period :

Community College Diploma in Social Services or a closely related field from an acceptable accredited college. Educational focus in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Police Foundations, Child and youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Social Services Worker, etc.Registered Behavioural Technician certificate an assetMinimum of two (2) years recent full-time work experience supporting hard to serve adults with complex care needs in community residential settingsExperience supporting people with behaviour management techniques is an assetExperience supporting teams with the implementation of clinical and / or treatment plans in collaboration with leadership, community partners and familiesExtensive experience in supporting persons through applied behaviour management techniques are a critical part of this roleSpecial factors :
Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively and calmly in crisis situations through various approved verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques. Position requires considerable physical interventions involving frequent bending, turning, twisting, and kneeling in response to crisis behaviourAbility to work under pressureProficient in the administration of first aid, CPR, NVCI, and medication dispensingValid class G driver's license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employmentMust be prepared to work flexible hours as requiredDuties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :
Acting as part of support team for individuals supportedDemonstrating a clear understanding of the requirements for data collection and implement for all treatment plansParticipating in the supported individuals' goal planning in accordance with the desire of the individual and in conjunction with the Site Coordinator and SupervisorImplementing the individual Support Plan (ISP) in conjunction with the individual and their team; assist the individual to attain the goals stated in their ISPFostering the independence of those supported in the program and actively participate in transition planning for people supported and their familiesActing as an appropriate role modelDemonstrating a clear understanding of standards and ability to apply : SMG techniques in preventing and managing behavioural crises, personal safety and SMG physical intervention techniques as outlined in SMG trainingEnsuring attendance and successful completion of SMG training at a minimum of once a year or more frequently as determined by SupervisorDemonstrating a clear understanding to ensure implementation of all safety protocols for each person supported ensuing the health and safety of people supported, staff, visitors and communityProviding appropriate supports to meet the physical, medical, and emotional needs of all supportedindividuals, i.e. : doctor's appointments, medical reviews
As part of clinical duties, providing reports, data overview on approved clinical interventionsCompleting all required documentation in a timely and effective manner, as outlined in Documentation Due reports and as requested by the SupervisorDemonstrating a clear understanding and implementation of all treatment plans, related protocols and data collection
