OVERVIEW

Industry’s leading accessories manufacturer is looking for an exceptionally creative product developer with a great sense of fashion, an individual with great attention to detail and ability to apply their design skills on product design creation and development for various accessories.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a collaborator in the Design Department, you will be responsible for creating elevated collections for our growing retail channels.

You will design a full seasonal accessories collections at a price point that allows you to work with the best factories to ensure your design intent is realized.

With your valuable contribution to this role, you will belong to a fun, creative, business goal oriented team.

THE JOB

focused on trending fashion and social
runways along with trending sites and other trend vehicles to forecast seasonal trends
sensitive, aware of latest social media fashion trends
to recognize and accurately interpret trends into design
understating of Colour Theory
colour standards from trend forecasting into seasonal planning
colour cards and fabric colour swatches
the transition of styles from design conception to production-ready sample
knowledge in product sourcing and product development from raw materials to finished product of fashion accessories mainly soft goods
to create complex print ready artwork for printing using Illustrator and Photoshop

Creation and execution of detailed spec package to send to overseas factories which include material information, sketches, print artwork

Communicating with overseas factories at a regular basis to ensure proper development sample standards are met

have an understanding of price relation to product development and design
manage and maintain costing files
fluid collections with a mix of various accessories for various national brands and private label brands
communication and presentation skills
with China team to ensure all sourcing is within timeline
the status quo by constantly identifying areas for improvement
to domestic and international for market research and trending
to work under tight timelines and group environment

Required experiences :

years experience in design and accessory construction
in Fashion Accessories or Home Goods is an asset
education in Fashion Design or Graphic Design
be considered an expert in Illustrator and Photoshop
Working Knowledge of Excel
to work in a team oriented environment
to multi-task
and time management skills required
