Summary :
Theworking Warehouse Supervisor directs and oversees the functions ofwarehouse personnel and assists in both the administrative andoperational responsibilities as and when required.
This positionalso requires the individual to work in a dynamic environment andexercise prompt decisionmaking and problemsolvingabilities.
Essential Functions&Responsibilities :
- Schedulingand supervising the activities and the functions of the warehousestaff
- Assigning daily tasks and evaluating thework of the subordinates
- Ensuring the properand timely completion of all warehouseactivities
- Responsible to ensure company safetypolicies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by alldepartment personnel and visitors.
Wears personal protectiveequipment as required. Ensuring the safety of all workers in thewarehouse as per Occupational Health & SafetyAct
- Inspecting and overseeing the inventoryrecords of the warehouse for accuracy in combination with keepingtrack of all inbound and outboundsupplies
- Regularly inspecting and ensuring themaintenance and safety of all warehouse equipment andmachinery
- Making inventory and evaluationreports pertaining to thewarehouse
- Participates in qualityplanning / improvement activities re : stocking ofracks
- Performs other duties as required withinhis abilities as requested by management
- Treatseveryone with dignity trust andrespect
- Understands and works in compliancewith the Environmental and Health / Safety management systemspolicies rules and guidelines
- Observe standardsfor safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health& Safety Act.
- Take every precautionreasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.Specific accountabilities for safety include but are not limited toperforming regular workplace inspections conducting / participatingin safety talks staff meetings actively participating inaccident / incident investigations training new employees identifyingand correcting unsafe acts or conditions identify correct orcommend health and safety performance and conducting performanceappraisals for workers safetyperformance
- Regularly operate forkliftequipment including accessing new employee ability to operate theequipment and provide training to new employees on the safeoperation of the forklift equipment

- AfternoonShift 10 : 00am 6 : 00pm
- Flexibility is required towork Day shifts 7 : 00am 3 : 00pm as business needsrequire

- Abilityto effectively lead a team delegate supervise functions and keepemployees motivated. Must have people skills for working withindividuals and teams.
- Must have good oral andwritten communication skills.
- Excellent timemanagement skills and ability to solvecrisis.
- Strong interpersonal conciliationskills and the capacity to network withsuppliers.
- Knowledge of safety standards (andIndustrial Accident InvestigationReporting).
- Must have good organizationalskills be a selfstarter and a teamplayer.
- Experienced licensed lift truckdriver.
- Must be computerliterate.
Education andExperience
- Diploma insupply chain management general administration from a certifiedcollege or equivalent experience
- Excellentcomputer skills with knowledge of barcodingsystems
- Minimum of 5 years experience inwarehousing facility activities at a Supervisorylevel
