Electrical Engineer – Calgary

Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer for our Calgary office. In this role you will be part of the E & IC group, working on multi‑disciplined engineering projects and interfacing with mechanical, electrical, structural and civil engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design power systems including medium‑voltage electrical equipment, motor control centres, low‑voltage electrical distribution systems, lighting, hazardous location classification and design, and fire alarm systems.
• Supervise junior engineers or technicians and review their work for technical accuracy.
• Plan projects and coordinate cross‑disciplinary activities.
• Conduct field inspections and work with contractors.
• Apply industry codes, standards and safeguards such as CEC, IEC, NFPA and client company standards to designs.
• Prepare single‑line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor‑power and control schematics, and field wiring.
• Develop plans and details for hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Prepare specifications for electrical equipment such as switchgear, motor control centres and electrical back‑up systems.
