Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join Empire Envelope in Calgary, AB. You ensure superior quality, coordination, and performance across all building envelope scopes, including drywall, insulation, paint, home wrap, siding, and roofing for new residential construction. Your focus is to exceed industry standards, improve timelines, strengthen quality assurance processes, manage warranties, and serve as the primary technical liaison for customers.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :
Building Envelope Quality & Technical Oversight
- Ensuring building envelope scopes meet or exceed industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and warranty requirements.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive quality control (QC) procedures across drywall, insulation, paint, wrap, siding, and roofing scopes.
- Coordinating quality assurance between trades to ensure proper sequencing and integration of envelope components.
- Managing technical handoffs between scopes to maintain continuity, performance, and warranty compliance.
- Conducting inspections and provide technical guidance to ensure building envelope integrity and performance.
Timeline Management & Process Improvement
Analyzing production timelines and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, sequencing, and overall project delivery.Developing transparent, interactive timeline dashboards for internal teams and customers.Implementing systems and processes to improve scheduling, coordination, and execution across all scopes.Assisting in the development and implementation of software tools to enhance scheduling accuracy and operational visibility.Providing ongoing reporting and recommendations based on timeline and performance data analysis.Warranty & Compliance Management
Ensuring work complies with manufacturer requirements to protect and maintain warranty eligibility.Managing building envelope warranty processes, including documentation, compliance verification, and issue resolution.Developing systems to track warranty compliance and proactively address potential risks.Customer & Technical Relations
Serving as the primary technical contact for customers regarding building envelope performance, quality, and scheduling.Providing technical expertise and coordinating support across all scopes.Conducting customer seminars and presentations demonstrating the benefits of a single-source building envelope provider.Presenting data-driven insights and recommendations to customers to improve timelines and project outcomes.Acting as a technical ambassador representing the company’s expertise and integrated service model.Systems Development & Innovation

Diploma / certification in building sciences.Minimum 10 years of experience.Strong technical understanding of building envelope systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to develop and implement systems and processes.Strong leadership and coordination abilities.Excellent communication and presentation skills, and strong organizational and project management skills.Ability to analyze data and present actionable insights.Customer-focused mindset.Valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle and a satisfactory driver’s abstract.Comfortable in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).What We Value
