Job description

Contract Developer (COBOL / Mainframe)

Location : Montreal

Contract Length : April 14, 2025 – December 31, 2025

Industry : Financial Services / IT

We're looking for a skilled Developer with strong COBOL and Mainframe expertise to support a large-scale hybrid project in Montreal. This hybrid role (2 days / week onsite) involves building and maintaining critical financial systems. You'll work closely with stakeholders to analyze needs, design and develop stable, secure solutions, and ensure seamless integration of all system components.

Must-Have Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years in a similar developer role
  • Strong experience in analysis, coding, and testing in a mainframe (MVS) environment
  • Proficiency in COBOL, zOS, JCL
  • Experience with DB2, IMS, and SQL
  • Familiarity with Control-M
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications :

  • Prior experience with financial systems
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Team player with the ability to influence and align team efforts
