Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, this unique front line pharmacist position will participate in off-site medication administration at treatment facilities and clinical activities in partnership with home partners, ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients.
With professional knowledge, experience and a compassionate nature, the OAT Pharmacist will bring a specialized approach to our team and clients.
Schedule : 5 days a week with rotating weekends - 7am-11am
Compensation : $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience for the role with CareRx.
Your Day to Day
- Front line medication administration activities at treatment facilities offsite near our pharmacy
- Ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions dispensed and consumed, where applicable
- Liaison between the facility and the operations pharmacy to support seamless and continuous care
- Providing professional functions related to dispensing including pharmaceutical care, patient counselling, medication reviews, liaising with other healthcare professionals and documenting interventions and dialogue
- A medication management consultant for home partners with a focus on treatment centre regulations and processes
- Dispenses prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, collation of data and clinical reviews
- Evaluates appropriateness of prescription orders with consideration for patient safety and legal requirements
- Completes third party adjudications necessary to complete prescriptions
- Maintains confidentiality and protects personal and organization information at all times
Qualifications / Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists
- Expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Participation in an on-call rotation
- Experience with KROLL Pharmacy software an asset
- OAT-CAMPP training required
- Injection Certified
