Primary Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions through design problem analysis and interpreting specifications for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist project / operations management in meeting safety cost quality and schedule targets by proposing plan changes recommending contractor payments preparing progress reports and coordinating work schedules
• Resolve highly technical and unusual design and field engineering problems through independent studies analysis exercising judgment in information selection and recommending safe engineering designs
• Contribute to CIMAs engineering practices by conducting studies developing technical standards exercising judgment in information evaluation recommending designs and providing guidance to other engineers
• Deliver exceptional customer service by defining engineering scope with clients establishing design criteria approving technical documentation and assessing / reporting progress against standards and objectives for safe quality budget-compliant and timely project completion
• Design overhead line structures and associated facilities for voltages from 60kV to 500kV in an electric utility environment
• Prepare project documentation like reports specifications proposals estimates design basis and test plans per CIMAs practices
• Develop design work packages with scope duration and effort estimates and manage design tasks including scope schedule and cost for existing and new facilities
• Provide signed / sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record per EGBC and CIMAs practices
• Offer technical assistance construction support and field reviews as required
• Perform structural design analysis and detailing for structures associated with transmission underground cables (including potheads concrete vaults cable duct banks) and transmission submarine cables (including terminations and potheads)
• Apply loads design criteria seismic analysis per regulatory and industry standards considering associated civil mechanical electrical systems like foundations lightning protection conductors and hardware
