Electrical‑Mechanical Technician – Ultra Maritime

Job Description
The Facilities function in Ultra is responsible for managing day‑to‑day facilities support services for all businesses, including buildings and grounds maintenance, security, health and safety, and business continuity activities.
National Eligibility
Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, and satisfy all Canadian NATO government security clearance requirements necessary for working on Canadian Controlled Goods projects.
Job Duties
- Assemble, install, maintain, repair and overhaul all types of equipment, machinery and systems used in production processes.
- Develop, implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures as required; monitor machinery function and highlight potential problems.
- Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance in accordance with procedures; diagnose and repair faults and suggest improvements to equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain and program Allen‑Bradley PLCs and PLC‑controlled equipment, machinery, variable speed drives and electro‑mechanical devices.
- Test electrical equipment for proper function, continuity and isolation from ground; correct faults as necessary.
- Run cabling for production equipment and production test equipment on the production floor.
- Alert supervision regarding repairs and maintenance required to ensure safe working conditions of operating equipment / machinery / electro‑mechanical devices.
- Work with team members and other departments to ensure efficient operation of production equipment, machinery and electro‑mechanical devices.
- Maintain records, including software and programs for production equipment and machinery.
- Repair, rework and calibrate pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
- Operate, test and maintain semi‑automated, servo‑mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
- Follow layouts and install traditional electrical circuitry for offices, lighting, pumps, motors, etc.
- Work with Engineering on the programming of existing and developmental PLCs and operating‑system‑based production equipment, machinery and electro‑mechanical devices.
- Use knowledge and experience to propose design changes and / or modifications to machines and equipment to improve performance and reliability.
- Respond to occasional emergency call‑in duties.
- Change filters on large filtration systems and any process equipment as needed.
Required Skills
Completed Grade 12 and a recognized community college diploma in Electromechanical Technician or trade certification (Journeyperson Millwright).Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and reading blueprints.Ability to obtain appropriate Canadian NATO government security clearance and satisfy all Canadian Controlled Goods project requirements.Desired Skills
Good level of computer literacy.Experience working with third‑party custom tooling shops.Experience with AGV systems.Proficient understanding of PLCs.WHMIS trained.Competent reading and writing skills.Positive attitude.Strong communication, organization and decision‑making skills.Diversity & Inclusion
