Position Summary
The HSE Coordinator will be responsible toassistwith the development, implementation,and maintenance of York Constructions health and safety policies and procedures in compliancewith applicable legislation and industry standards & best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Site Safety Oversight
- Conduct regular on-site inspections toidentifyand address potential health and safety hazards
- Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed diligently
Safety Training and Orientation
Facilitate on-site safety training sessions and orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitorsEnsure that all workers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools tomaintaina safe work environmentIncident Response and Investigation
Respond promptly to on-site incidents, accidents, and near misses, conducting thorough investigationsImplement corrective actions and provide recommendations to prevent the recurrence of incidentsEmergency Preparedness on Site
Develop and implement on-site emergency response plans and proceduresConduct regular emergency drills to assess the effectiveness of response measuresDocumentation and Reporting
Maintainaccurateand up-to-date records of on-site safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incidentsPrepare andsubmitcomprehensive reports to the HSE Manager asrequiredOn-Site Safety Culture Promotion
Actively engage with on-site personnel to promote a positive safety cultureRecognize and reward individuals and teams for exemplary safety practicesRegulatory Compliance at the Site Level
Stay informed about local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations applicable to construction sitesEnsure on-site compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standardBona Fide Occupational Requirements (BFOR)
