Technical Writer – Canada Projects
Wood is recruiting for a Technical Writer to join its Canada Projects business. This opportunity is hybrid and can be based in Edmonton or Grande Prairie, AB.
Overview
This position is responsible for developing reports, proposals and other technical materials to support our project teams. The Technical Writer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and functional support teams to produce high-quality documentation that we are proud to submit to our clients.

Responsibilities
Develop content for proposal submissions – project specific and within established programsDevelop reports for submission to clients as part of project deliverablesDevelop other technical materials which could include training, change management, processes / proceduresReview and refresh proposal contentParticipate as a contributing member of a team, communicating effectively on various tasks and projects as assignedFollow client‑specific and department style guides and writing standardsInvestigate and gather information required to complete assignments within deadlinesInterview clients or SMEs to obtain informationCommunicate with SMEs to review content for technical accuracyReport progress to Project Manager and update progress trackersExpected Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in technical writing or a related technical discipline5+ years of experience in technical writingStrong English reading and writing skillsProficiency in MS Office suiteExcellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with SMEs and clientsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesDesirable Qualifications
Experience with content development tools (e.g., Storyline, Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS)Spanish speaking is an asset but not requiredAbout Us
