About the Opportunity
Financial analysis, research and evaluations for the administration of the agency’s financial / accounting processes in a manner that is consistent with the business direction of the program, accepted accounting and auditing principles and practices, accountability reporting standards and legislative requirements
Projecting future financial needs given the various projects undertaken by the organization
Managing financial resources develop options, cost projections and recommendations to support decision-making
Prepare periodic reports (statistical / financial) that may be required by the department and / or executive team and / or other stakeholders
Prepare reports about discrepancies and amendments that occurred in the budget during the entire financial year in coordination with the concerned managers
Assist the Director in managing the organizational budgeting process, including budget preparation, development, analysis, execution and control taking into consideration the present and future financial needs of the agency
Upgrade departmental operating budget templates and make suitable improvements
Import the approved budget data into the accounting system (Sage 300) and financial reporting system (Prophix) and monitor the budget throughout
Work with managers and supervisors in collecting and assembling the necessary financial information as per funder guidelines to ensure the financial viability of the proposed program and they will benefit the agency
Support program managers and Fund Development Manager in preparation of budgets for funding proposals
Monitor in-year overall financial performance for all programs against original budgets and help the managers and supervisors manage their financial resources
About You
Post-graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
3+ years of solid work experience in financial planning and management, including but not limited to : budget preparation, analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, variance reporting and other reporting techniques, and application of financial principles, best practices and methodologies to support decision making
Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, techniques and practices
Highly proficient in MS Office Suite particularly in Excel and Access
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and to define and meet deliverables in a timely manner
CPA Designation in progress it is an asset
Hourly Rate
29 - $32 / hr
