Job Description

This position is located at 65 John Savage Ave, Dartmouth, NS. Starting wage is between $17.11 and $19.74 per hour, with opportunities for annual increases.

Position Purpose Summary

The role is focused on safe, timely and effective delivery of goods from the Salvation Army Distribution Centre (DC) to SA Ministry Units (MU) or other assigned locations as well as safe collection of donated materials from donor locations and delivering them to SA MU, DC, or other assigned location.

Accountabilities

• Capable of driving vehicles including either 3- and 5-ton commercial vehicles as well as cube vans or panel vans.
• Prior to departure complete daily circle check report also throughout day inspect vehicle for defects and maintain fuel and fluids etc.
• Maintain daily CVOR log as per regulation.
• Load and operate vehicle as per the ministry of transportation regulations.
• Maintain a clean drivers abstract and clean driving record (report any changes).
• Inform supervisor of any driving or vehicle infractions.

This is a permanent full time position.

Safety Shoe Requirement

All Salvation Army NRO employees are required to wear safety shoes at all times in all Store and DRC locations.

Background Check

Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $17.11 to $21.38 with a maximum of $25.66.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
