About the Position
As a Summer Student at GCL, you won’t just be sitting behind a desk you’ll be in the field, working alongside industry pros who are as committed to the environment as you are.
If you’re not afraid to tackle challenges head-on and want to level up your skills, this is the perfect fit.
What You’ll Do
- Dive into exciting vegetative assessments, detailed site assessments that actually make a difference.
- Gain hands-on experience in environmental management and consulting .
- Work in fast-paced, ever-changing environments sometimes independently, sometimes as part of a supportive team.
- Get outside! Conduct fieldwork in all types of weather and terrains (we promise, you’ll have stories to tell!).
- Learn to operate vehicles and equipment safely, with some off-road adventure thrown in.
- Communicate your ideas and findings in a way that makes everyone say, Whoa, you really know your stuff!
Who We’re Looking For
- Enthusiastic, environmentally-minded students who want to make an impact (and have some fun while doing it).
- Self-starters who can juggle multiple projects at once.
- People with great communication skills (written, verbal, and everything in between).
- Nature lovers who are cool with working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- Class 5 driver’s license in hand bonus points if you’ve got some off-highway vehicle experience.
