Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll to reflect all changes occurred during a pay period, termination, new hire, transfer, overtime, and bonus. Review, correct and balance payroll output.
- Prepare manual pay cheques for off-cycle payroll payments, calculating statutory deductions, and updating employee records in payroll system.
- Investigate and set up pay codes on ADP to make sure earnings are taxed and reported correctly.
- Issue ROE in a timely manner for employees to be able to claim EI.
- Download payroll reports for Accounting to make proper journal entry.
- Balancing all earnings at year end to make sure T4 is produced correctly and timely.
- Prepare Payroll and Benefits reconciliations to make sure information is correct.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding their pay, time off, ROE and T4
- Perform regular compliance audit and make proper adjustment or proposal accordingly.
Assisting and collaborating
Semi-monthly payroll data analysis to monitor gross pay, Overtime and bonus. Investigate if anything abnormal.Compa ratio research for our current positions. Assist HR in finalizing salary raise semi-yearly.Support HR with reports per request.Provides training and instruction to Human Resources generalists as appropriate in the day-to-day application of compensation programs, policies, and procedures.Assists in the development, writing, editing, and modification of operating policies, guidelines, and procedures.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.Minimum 3 years of payroll and benefits experience in a corporate environment.Experience with ADP or other payroll systems preferred.Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll laws, employment standards, EI, CPP, and T4 reporting.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Mandarin or French, an asset but not required.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Good communication skills to respond to employee inquiries and collaborate with HR teams.Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Experience in payroll reconciliation, year-end processing, and compliance audits.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Benefits
