Job descriptionPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems. Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and diagnostic equipment. Travel to various remote sites to accomplish field repairs on occasion. Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment engines and components. Rebuild hydraulic systems and related components. Develop and maintain routine and preventative maintenance schedules. Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed. Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and keep up with industry standards. Communicate clearly with mechanical technicians and other team members providing support services during repair operations. Share knowledge and train technicians and other support staff members as required. Journeyman Ticket as Heavy Duty Mechanic preferred – proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. 3‑5 years’ experience with heavy equipment repair in a similar position. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required – Class 3 License would be an asset. Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills. Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Keen interest to learn and develop new skills and keep up with advancing technology. This position typically involves working in a garage or shop setting, with exposure to various weather conditions and noise levels. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more, with assistance) and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces. General hours of work : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. Benefits package. Boot allowance. Weekly overtime opportunities.
Heavy Duty Mechanic
RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our Construction and Maintenance Team. As our Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team of technicians working to maintain all of our medium and heavy‑duty construction equipment throughout the year. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. You will work on a variety of machinery, including plows, drills, hoes, and trucks. This role will be ideal for a responsible, independent, and self‑motivated mechanic who gets excited about being challenged with on‑the‑spot repairs at various field locations.
