We are currently looking for Security Officers in Fort Nelson for our Casual / On-Call team, where you'll be a key first responder for short-notice or short-term assignment during the days or nights.
This is an as-needed position, with an immediate opening for a full-time night shift (2200 - 0600h) position

Responsibilities :
Controlling access to the facilityRegular foot patrolsProviding excellent customer serviceWriting detailed incident reportsDe-escalating potentially violent situationsResponding to alarms and emergency requestsCommunicating with colleagues, clients, emergency responders, and the general publicReporting unusual activity, property damage, security breaches, etc. to our Operations Centre and emergency servicesOther duties as required to meet operational needsYou'll be a great fit if you have :
A valid BC Security Worker LicenseReliable vehicle for shelter and BC Class 5 driver's licenseOpen availability during weekdays, evening and graveyards shiftsExcellent customer service and problem-solving skillsStrong English communication skills, both verbal and writtenA passion for being active, since your patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, uneven surfaces, and parkadesPhysical ability to stand and / or patrol for the majority of a shift (8-hours average)Confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency servicesSome experience in security would be an asset, but other experience in customer service or volunteering can still help you succeed!Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situationsBasic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radioLegal authorization to work in CanadaAdditional Information / Benefits
