Reporting to the Team Lead Environmental Health and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Environmental Health Officer is responsible for carrying out a diverse program of environmental health protection.
- Using a variety of professional and technical skills, the position reduces the incidence of communicable disease, injury and health hazards;
- performs technical assessments; provides consultative and education services; ensures that community development does not conflict with a healthy environment;
ensures compliance with environment health legislation, policy and standards.
Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Monday to Friday, 08 : 30 to 16 : 30
New Wage : As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is : $39.26 - $49.01 / hour
Fort Nelson is located in the northernmost region of the Rocky Mountains and has a family and recreation-oriented community of 3,366 (2021) people.

Qualfications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related discipline; must have a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).
- Current valid BC Driver’s License.

- Equipment : Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
Demonstrated ability in the use of e-mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
