Job description

Azran Lawyers , located in the heart of Old Montreal, is looking for a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our dynamic team.

This position is intended for a legal professional with solid experience in civil litigation who wishes to contribute to the defense of our clients’ rights in varied and complex cases.

As a civil litigation lawyer, you will play a key role in representing clients in court, managing cases, and designing effective legal strategies.

This role requires great rigour, an ability to analyze complex legal situations, and excellent communication with clients and other team members.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Judicial Representation : Represent clients before the courts in civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, tort claims, and real estate disputes.

You will have to defend the interests of your clients with professionalism and determination.

  • Legal Strategy : Develop solid legal strategies to maximize your clients’ chances of success.

    • You will need to analyze the facts, evaluate the evidence, and propose solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

  • Case Management : Ensure the complete management of customer files, from opening to closing.

    • You will need to ensure that each file is properly organized, updated, and ready for hearings or negotiations.

  • Drafting of Legal Documents : Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.

    • You will need to ensure that all documents meet legal standards and court requirements.

  • Settlement Negotiation : Negotiate out-of-court settlements to avoid lengthy and costly lawsuits, while ensuring that your clients’ interests are protected.
  • Communication with Clients : Maintain regular and transparent communication with clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their files and answering their questions with clarity and empathy.

    • Requirements :

  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation is required.
  • Language Skills : Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze complex legal situations and propose innovative solutions to resolve disputes.
  • Personal Qualities : Rigor, sense of organization, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure.

    • You must also have excellent negotiating skills and an ability to collaborate with other team members.

  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in technological tools for case management and legal research.
