Job Description
As part of a fast-growing company providing optical transceivers solutions to the Aerospace and Defense market, you will manage, develop and implement new manufacturing processes in our production environment - embracing advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic components, modules and sub-systems.
You will actively participate in the development of the next generation of optical transceivers by participating to the PFMEA, MRR, MSA and NPI processes.
In collaboration with members of the Engineering and Production teams, you will be involved in defining technical requirements, qualifying assembly methodologies, and providing staff training.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop processes related to the assembly of Optical and Microelectronic modules, such as : SMT, flip chip assembly, epoxy dispensing, high accuracy die-bonding, wire-bonding, opto-electronic sub-assemblies (active and passive).
- Support research and development of new technologies related to advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic manufacturing processes.
- Participate to the design and procurement of tooling and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and analyze manufacturing processes. Provide technical guidance to the production team.
- Create and maintain process documentation.
- Lead Statistical Process Controls in manufacturing.
- Participate to New Product Introduction by supporting PFMEA, MRR, and MSA processes.
- Qualify and transfer into production new manufacturing processes.

The Individual
- Engineering degree.
- 5+ years' experience in a Process or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of optical and microelectronic technologies and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Experience in programming high-end automated assembly equipment (dispensers, die-bonders, wire-bonders, optical-aligners, etc.) - an asset
- Hands-on experience in handling bare dies or miniature components using tweezers, microscopes, camera systems, etc.
- Knowledge of product’s design and development phases.
- Strong leadership and strong communication skills including technical documentation, written reports and proposals, development and delivery of presentations and the ability to listen to and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
- Experience with industrial automation processes - an asset.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and change priorities.
- Ability to synthesize data and communicate results efficiently.
