Position Summary The Service Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring the Automatic Door Technicians are directed, supported, and trained to handle a wide variety of service-related issues. In addition, the Service Manager ensures that the team responds to service requests in a timely fashion and minimizes repeat calls. The Service Manager also directs the work of the Warehouse Clerk. The Service Manager will work with the Regional General Manager and Branch Manager, Calgary, as a team to develop and implement procedures to monitor and improve on inventory controls. Essential Functions Monitor Automatic Door Technician response times, customer call volume and quality of service to ensure the level of service to customers is maximized. Ensure Automatic Door Technicians have the appropriate tools, equipment and are up to date on their vehicle maintenance. Approve spending for tools, equipment, and vehicle maintenance up to set maximums. Forecast labour needs under the discretion of the Regional General Manager. Ensure all safety guidelines rules, regulations and practices are followed by the Automatic Door Technicians. Respond to customers in need of a service quote. Resolve service delivery issues. Ensure entrance system installations are completed to AAADM standard. Develop new service contracts and maintain existing service contracts. Ensure inventory levels align with overall business unit objectives. Manage routine and bi-annual inventory audits for work vehicle and physical location. Minimize inventory variances. Work with Sales to coordinate / schedule installations as well as service. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Maintain up to date technical entrance system knowledge. Customer centric with superior customer service and communication skills. Ability to motivate, coach and support team to drive desired results. Ability to foster teamwork and champion the company’s values. Education, Training, Experience Relevant post-secondary education or relevant combination of education and experience. 3 – 5 years’ experience in service management. 3 – 5 years’ experience servicing and / or installing entrance systems or related technology is preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a ERP system, preferably SAP Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Understand and manage expenses within the service operation. Good understanding of estimating and inventory management. Working Conditions and Physical Demands May from time to time be subject to tight deadlines. Visits to customer sites, clean public entrance vestibules. Visits to construction sites, frequently dusty or dirty. PPE required. Reaching is necessary above shoulder height and below the waist.
