This is a permanent 12-month position.
Hours are from 7 : 00 to 4 : 00 (Hours of work will fall within the day shift band and may change consistent with the collective agreement.
Hours to be confirmed upon hire.)
Flexible home base, to be determined by management, based on system needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years practical experience AND 3- 5 years of experience with Silent Knight, DCS, Kantech, Avigilon, Telecor, Dukane, Carehawk and Roland systems
- Mechanical aptitudes
- Working knowledge of electrical equipment and material
- Ability to understand schematics and plans
- Ability to work independently
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor in the assigned region
- Responsible for the inspection, testing, repairing and installing of security alarm panels, card access systems, cameras and Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and public address Systems in all schools and administrative buildings
- Ensure that all applicable TCDSB specifications are met and that all equipment is maintained to the manufacturer's recommendations
- Responsible for the safe operation and safekeeping of tools supplied by the Board and the safe operation and maintenance of company vehicle while in use
- Maintain accurate records (, vehicle maintenance, work orders, timesheets, alarm system annual test and inspection reports etc)
- Perform other job-related duties as required
- The use of proper safety protective equipment is required at all times
EDUCATION
- Must have a community college diploma in Electronic Engineering Technician
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver's "G" license. (candidates must submit their driver’s license upon request) and have access to a reliable automobile.
If candidates are selected for an interview, they must submit proof of good driving record before the interview.
Must be proficient in the English language in order to comprehend manuals and maintain work records
