POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Contracting & Transfers, is responsible for all National Account Insurance contracting and transfer activities including the management of business processes related to insurance business transfers and coordination of transfer payments.
In addition, the Manager Contracting & Transfers will be responsible for handling escalations related to Insurance carrier selling codes, agent of record changes and orphan policy management.
The Insurance Contracting Manager works with new Consultants, the Talent Acquisition Team, Field Directors, Region Office Management, Insurance carrier companies as well as MGAs to ensure the smooth transition of business and timely resolution of escalations.
The Insurance Contracting Manager is the key liaison with external carriers for the accommodation of in force insurance business and ongoing tracking procedures associated to accommodating business.
This individual will also be responsible for creating and updating reporting related to the activities being supported as well as the creation and documentation of procedures and reference material for the field, and internal audiences.
This individual will be expected to demonstrate a high degree of accountability and personal drive in executing their responsibilities with a proven track record of identifying and implementing ongoing process improvements.
DUTIES INCLUDE :
Management of the Insurance Business Transfer Process
Ensure timely connections are made between new Consultants and carriers to initiate business transfers.
Work with new Consultants to accommodate their in-force insurance business by coordinating with insurance carriers & external MGAs to perform all business transfer processes as required.
Handle insurance contracting & transfer escalations
Includes working with Region Office operations team, Insurance carriers and consultants on escalations associated to Agent of Record changes.
Insurance Selling Code setups and challenges
People Management
This role will be supported by a Specialist that will assist with the day-to-day duties required to accommodate insurance business.
Mentorship as well as objective setting and performance management will be requirements.
Create, maintain as well as enhance insurance business processes focusing on support of all insurance contracting activities.
Ensure content related to insurance business transfers, agent of record changes, insurance selling code procedures are up to date on the following internal platforms : Advantage Plus, Sierra, FDR, internal SharePoint business process documentation.
Participation in Insurance Carrier Meetings to develop relationships and address insurance contracting process challenges.
Create communications where required, for all audiences on notable changes and process improvements.
Reporting
Create and maintain reporting on insurance business transfers.
Track and monitor trends related to insurance contracting escalations.
Monitor and report on Orphaned Insurance Business
QUALIFICATIONS :
4+ years of related contracting & transfer experience in an insurance industry position
Experienced people leader
Completion of related post-secondary education in a relevant business discipline
Strong team player that values relationship building, collaboration and communication.
Ability to communicate complex business and technical information in a clear concise manner.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, able to use logic and reasoning to foresee and identify potential problems and proactively take steps to remedy the issues required.
Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
Highly organized and able to deal with multiple demands from various stakeholders with a sound sense of urgency, attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ability to meet deadlines with strong follow-up skills required.
Proficient with MS Office suite Excel, Power Point
French (verbal and written) would be an asset.
