Other responsibilities include, but not limited to :
In lab launch stage
- Complete required training; follow safety requirements
- Work on test preparation and setup
- Develop and validate test scripts and reports
- Ensure hardware and software support needs are addressed during installation of equipment and set up of the lab
- Support the commissioning of cell test equipment
Lab in full operation
Develop and execute test plans for cells, including performance and safety testingKeep test requestors informed on status of all running tests, report intermediate results on a regular basisEnsure reports are delivered in a timely manner and highest possible qualityWork with automation engineers on verifying test scripts prior to executionWork with data engineers on test data processing, analyzing and visualizationEnsure all work procedures and tests comply with lab safety requirementsSupport root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testingAttend Cell and Module engineering meetings, support meeting assignmentsEnsure all training requirements are kept up to dateEscalate issues to management as neededRequirements
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Engineering and TestingKnowledge of Lithium-ion battery chemistry, working principle, characterization, and performanceKnowledge of Lithium-ion battery componentsPractical skills of common laboratory tools and instrumentsExperience of setting up, maintaining, and monitoring tests according to test proceduresCapability of large test data processing, analyzing and visualizationExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesLegally eligible to work in CanadaPreferred Qualifications
M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExperience in Lithium-ion battery R&D, Engineering, and ManufacturingKnowledge of up to date Lithium-ion battery technologyExperience with Lithium-ion battery testing; Knowledge of cell test methods and specifications, such as USABC battery test manualsExperience with battery cyclers, data acquisition systems, and EIS measurementExperience with DVP&R test plan executionDemonstrated ability to work in a unionized environmentPrior experience or knowledge of ISO 17025 or 9001 accreditationAdditional Information / Must Have's
