SCOPE OF POSITION
The Stockkeeper / Material Handler reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of material throughout the production process. This role includes supplying raw materials to production lines, transferring finished goods from production to shipping, assisting production crews with put-ups, and maintaining Work-in-Progress (WIP) and core cutter areas. The Stockkeeper / Material Handler also acts as a relief operator on Class 7 production lines as required.
This position requires the safe operation of forklift equipment, the accurate use of QAD and Redzone systems, and a consistent commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping, and cleanliness standards.
Within the limits of applicable policies, procedures and established plans, this role has the authority to take action and make decisions. The assignment of work or delegation of responsibility does not relinquish responsibility for results. Performance will be measured by the extent to which the responsibilities have been fulfilled.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily operation of all material handling equipment with valid Hood Packaging licence
- Maintains all work-in-process (WIP) areas – including warehouse, extrusion, press and converting - to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment
- Ensure FIFO is used for all stock material including rolls, pallets, masterbatch, etc.
- Identifies and brings forward any orphan rolls
- Supplies all departments with raw materials including rolls, masterbatch, pallets, pallet covers, etc.
- Accountable for the core cutter area including cutting cores, housekeeping and maintaining stock
- Assists all crews with preparing pallets to be delivered to shipping and moving from the lines
- Moves any non-dispositioned, red-tagged product to the appropriate NC area
- Assists with maintaining the NC area by moving dispositioned product to the appropriate area
- Trained relief operator for both 405 and 603 production lines
- Other duties as required or assigned
