Langley City is looking for Casual Shift Supervisors in the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department at Al Anderson Memorial Pool. Reporting to the Recreation Supervisor, the Shift Supervisors are responsible for the short‑term aquatic programming and operation of Al Anderson Memorial Pool. The Casual Shift Supervisor assignments start on March 30, 2026, and end on September 27, 2026. Shift Supervisor In‑Service training is March 30 to April 3, 2026 (time to be determined) and Spring In‑Service training is April 7 to 10, 2026 (time to be determined). Applicants must be available on these dates for In‑Service training.
Rate of pay : $33.23 - $34.23 per hour (2024 CUPE rates)
Hours of work : Up to 40 hours per week (Monday to Sunday including days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends)
Casual employees are paid 12.5% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid annual vacation.
A valid Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR‑C / AED, National Lifesaving Award, Lifesavings Swim for Life Instructor, and BCRPA Pool Operator I Certification are required.
Extensive experience in lifeguarding and instruction, a Lifesaving Instructor / Examiner Award, National Lifesaving Instructor Award, Red Cross Instructor Training Certification, BCRPA Pool Operator Level II Certification, BCRPA Aquafit Instructor Certification (or equivalent), CPR Instructor Certification or equivalent combination of training and experience are desired.
