Our client, an Engineering Services group, that specializes in providing a full range of planning and engineering services for airport and heliport infrastructure projects to local, national, and international clients is looking for a Senior Airside Electrical Engineer
This position can be in Ontario or Alberta (Calgary or Edmonton). The airport team currently operates on a hybrid work model, with the teams splitting their work week between home and office.
Responsibilities :
- Acting as Lead Electrical Design and / or a Project Manager in the design, project management and contract administration for airfield infrastructure projects for private airports, regional and international airports.
- Oversee, lead, and develop a scope for the engineering investigations and planning work that assist in the preparation of the design of the airfield infrastructure.
- Provide engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications;
prepare records and progress reports defining construction progress.
- Assist and oversee the development and preparation of figures, design drawings, specifications, calculations, life cycle cost analysis, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, design briefs, etc.
- Perform field inspections of construction when required.
- Mentor and support junior staff.
Qualifications and requirements :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.eng with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
- Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications such as MS Office suite, AutoCAD, Civil3D, AviPlan Aircraft Modelling software, FAIRFIELD, and PAVER software.
- Have knowledge and experience using FAA, ICAO and Transport Canada standards.
- Effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills with team members and clients.
- Ability to travel to project sites (some remote) for design purposes and resident construction services.
