Objective
We’re seeking a Project Controls Manager to support the project control personnel of a portfolio of projects utilizing the Worley Project Control Systems and processes in all phases of project execution. The Project Controls Manager will work with project teams to provide guidance on project controls requirements and data gathering. The Project Controls Manager will provide strong leadership to the entire project controls team both locally and globally while ensuring accurate and on-time reporting of data.
Specific Accountabilities
- Assist in the rollout of the project control system including initial configuration and contribution to training activities.
- Liaise with project teams to ensure the correct utilization of the project control system based on project specific requirements and corporate guidelines.
- Track and report on portfolio KPI’s.
- Review and develop data interfaces for third party project systems, as required.
- Proposal / Bid preparation.
- Training and mentoring of project controls personnel.
- Identifies and implements value adding practises and supports continuous improvement.
- Rolls out initiatives, systems, tools.
- Collaborates with customer to realize program objectives.
- Safety – Responsible for personal safety, safe working practices for the Business Systems Customer Sector Group. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Systems Customer Sector Group.
- Undertake project roles, as required, to include :
- Take ownership of the cost control function and ensure integrity of the data being processed.
- Interface with project personnel to develop project forecasts and analyze project costs.
- Supervise any supporting roles in the project cost control area.
- Liaise with clients to clarify cost related issues and develop timely and meaningful monthly invoices. Ensure payment of invoices according to contract terms.
- Liaise with Client for reporting purposes.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports for the project. Also prepare other financial analysis as required on an ad hoc basis.
- Implement financial controls including controlling authorizations of expenditure and cash flow projections.
- Preparation of budgets in conjunction with engineering and construction team members.
- Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members, particularly regarding cost and planning (forecasting).
- Management of change orders.
- Working with teams across the globe to achieve project objectives and meet customer expectations.
- Regular travel to customer sites (Canada & USA) for interface meetings.
- Relevant diploma or certificates from recognized institute.
- Extensive experience as a Project Controls Manager preferable in the engineering industry.
- Strong in costing and planning but more to costing / financial than planning.
- Working knowledge of EcoSys is preferred.
- Ability to travel to USA is required.
- Position requires in-office attendance.
