Black & McDonald is actively seeking a Mobile Building Operator to join our dynamic Facilities Management & Operations (FMO) team in Vancouver, BC. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, customer-focused, and technically skilled professional looking to grow their career in a supportive and fast-paced environment. The Building Operator position will be based out of our Vancouver Office and report to the Project Manager.

As a Building Operator, you will play a key role in maintaining the operational integrity and safety of various facilities across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. This mobile position involves supporting multiple sites across our various client portfolios and will support our team members and Operators with maintenance and operations as required. Local travel in company vehicle will be required. Duties include but are not limited to the following :

• In conjunction with the Project Manager and the team, plan and execute responsive and planned maintenance in accordance with facility management system.
• Operate and monitor computerized Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Conduct minor plumbing and electrical repairs
• Ensure safe conditions inside and outside of facilities
• Respond to client service requests and ensure contract compliance
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other subcontractors.
• Perform basic tours and log readings.
• Perform light duties such as cleaning, painting, garbage removal, snow removal, HVAC, Plumbing, and other Mechanical duties, assisting sub-contractors technician's mechanics, etc.
• Build and maintain customer and supplier / vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships.
• Assist in preparing construction project budget estimates.
• Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
• Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs.
• Represent the company on matters such as business services.
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
• Assist in purchase of building materials.
• Review work / contracts / WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.

Expected compensation for this role is a starting pay range between $28-$33 / hour dependent on skills and experience.
