Position Overview : The Assembler is responsible for quality workmanship with assemblies work as assigned for sub-assemblies and main assemblies.
Days of work : Monday-Friday. 6am-230pm.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Assembler I :
- Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipe.
- Follow proper detailing procedure / work instructions.
- Proper use of the sandblaster.
- Drill and tap holes.
- Read a tape measure to the closest 1 / 16 .
- Fill out applicable check sheets.
- Ensure quality of work by showing an eye for detail.
- Clock in and out of work orders and report completed work to Foreman.
- Ensure materials are properly tracked and allocated to each job for costing purposes.
- Maintain a safe work environment within the department and on each job.
- Identify areas for improvement and the use of non-conformance reports.
- Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
- Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times.
- Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job.
- Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
- Perform work by CEC-documented policies and procedures.
- Bend tube 1 / 8 - 1 / 2 .
- Ability to operate cold saw, band saw and threader.
- Swage trained and competent.
- Read flow diagrams / PNID Drawings.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
Physical :
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Other :
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Preferred 2 years experience.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to handle conflict.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
