Reporting the Senior Director, the Training Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our workforce.
Your role is crucial in ensuring that employees are well-trained and equipped to meet the organization's goals and safety standards.
This role is based out of Mississauga, ON
What You Will Be Working On :
- Develop and lead processes and communications for ongoing employee training programs for the nuclear project.
- Provide guidance, expertise, and recommendations to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the training curriculum.
- Contribute to the business and project strategy by helping leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes to ensure training needs are balanced with the need for consistency.
- Provide strategic and tactical internal consulting / facilitation and problem-solving advice and services to leaders and employees for training programs and services.
- Assist the management team with building a high-performance nuclear team through training assessment, workforce and succession planning, risk assessment, and development plans.
- Reinforce the development of a learning culture as a way of inspiring project resources.
- Apply training and development knowledge across all aspects of the team, delivering measurable value to the management team and project team members.
- Embed and champion training policies, information systems, projects, and practices which are aligned and meet the needs of our project team.
- Work closely with the project team to implement available training tools & resources across the project.
What We Are Looking For :
- 5 years of work-related experience in employee training and development. An equivalent combination of education / experience will be considered.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices and trends in employee training and development, including maintaining contacts with other municipalities and comparators regarding training practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using project management and change management principles.
- Excellent project management skills in planning multi projects with interdependent timelines.
- Sound judgement; excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently as well as with multiple stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership.
- Working knowledge of a PC and computer applications related to the work, e.g., Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel, Adobe, etc.
