Our client is looking for a Project Coordinator for an 18-month contract position. The role is remote with occasional onsite meetings (up to 3-4 times per month).

Start Date : October 8, 2024

End Date : March 31, 2026

Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 08 : 15 - 16 : 30 Alberta time (7.25 hours / day)

Note : Travel expenses related to onsite meetings will not be covered by the Client. Specialists must bring their own equipment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Coordination :
  • Coordinate IT infrastructure teams within the Ministry of Technology and Innovation.
  • Manage multiple IT projects concurrently, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and client expectations.
  • Focus on the execution of pre-approved solutions, not designing new ones.
  • Ensure adherence to GoA cybersecurity and operational standards.
  • Provide weekly status reports to stakeholders.
  • Types of Projects :
  • Manage infrastructure projects, including office setups, technology hosting, building decommissioning, and disaster recovery.
  • Coordinate efforts across IT domains (EUC, Cloud, Servers, Storage, Networks, Cybersecurity).
  • Core Duties :
  • Oversee project documentation and resource management using project management methodologies.
  • Offer technical guidance, perform quality control, and collaborate on proof of concepts.
  • Review and manage service requests.
  • Equipment :
  • Must provide personal equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Security Requirements :
  • A standard criminal record check and Enhanced Security Clearance are required, managed by the GoA.

Must-Have Requirements :

  • Education / Experience (One of the following) :
  • University degree in business / management or related discipline + 4 years of Project Coordinator experience.
  • 2-year diploma in business / management or related discipline + 6 years of Project Coordinator experience.
  • 1-year certificate in business / management or related discipline + 7 years of Project Coordinator experience.
  • 8 years of Project Coordinator experience.

Experience :

  • 5 years : Defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders.
  • 5 years : Developing project charters, business cases, and project deliverables.
  • 5 years : Managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • 5 years : Developing positive stakeholder relationships, including executive-level engagements.
  • 5 years : Leading change management and communication planning.
  • 4 years : Working in an enterprise architecture environment.
  • 3 years : Experience in or for the public sector.

Working Conditions :

  • Full remote role but must work within Canada due to network and data security requirements.
