At Merit Kitchens, the Finisher will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are sprayed to a consistently high quality in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere.
Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Select appropriate paint or mix paints using paint mixing equipment according to a pre-determined formula.
- Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items with protective or decorative coatings.
- Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.
- Mark, record, and report defects.
- Clean and perform preparation of worksite.
- Signal equipment and line operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and / or hazardous environments.
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a finishing painter, preferably in cabinet or furniture manufacturing.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification is a plus.
- On-time and reliable
- Able to lift 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, etc. for 8 hours a day.
- Effective English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Time management, prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
