Underground Surveyor (Fly-In Fly-Out)
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
Reporting to the Survey Leader, you will be part of the Engineer Department. The incumbent will primarily be involved in the accurate measurement and recording of the progression of mine workings, further ensuring the recorded information is translated onto mining plans in a clear and timely manner.
You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Install laser stations and complete regular survey updates for all development headings underground. Ensure all said information is transferred onto the appropriate mining plans and made available to the end user(s) in a timely and efficient manner;
- Produce a bi-monthly reconciliation of the mine-wide development meters and associated volume excavated from the underground workings, attributing each reconciled meter as either an operation or capital expenditure;
- Complete regular void scan surveys of the production stopes in various stages of the stope cycle in order to monitor production status, using the available technology (CMS, UG Drone);
- Hole collar pick-up, breakthrough & Gyroscopic surveys of long-hole production drilling activities to assist drill & blast technicians with stope blast design & timing;
- Develop and contribute to the development of standardized work procedures of surveying activities;
- Support the Open pit survey team if needed;
- Promote Health and Safety by participating in Departmental Health & Safety oriented activities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- College degree in mining, civil engineering or geomatics;
- Minimum 1 year of experience in surveying (production mining context);
- Expertise with survey equipment (total station, CMS, Drone & rover);
- Possess strong communication skills to be able to effectively liaise across multiple departments;
- Knowledge and experience with Deswik software is considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
YOUR WORK SCHEDULE :
- Schedule : 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
