Mechanical Engineering - Internship Fall 2024
Job Description
Biomomentum strives to be at the forefront of innovation in the field of mechanical testing of biomaterial and tissues. Our multiaxial Mach-1 Mechanical Testers can assess mechanical properties of biomaterials or tissues under compression, tension, shear, friction, torsion, bending and also with our proprietary technique for 3D mechanical properties mapping .
During this 16-week internship, the student will work with our engineers and scientists to develop and validate new mechanical testing modalities compatibles with the multiaxial Mach-1 Mechanical Tester on various biomaterials and tissues.
Interns will have to conduct thorough literature review, determine the optimal testing parameters and write down Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with step-by-step information on how to execute the mechanical testing.
Requirements
The position requires at least 3 years completed in a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Basic knowledge of ISO13485 (medical devices) and GLP / GMP regulations is an asset.
The candidate should be well organized and attentive to details. The ability to manage multiple tasks / prioritize a large volume of work within deadlines and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment are imperative qualities.
French (written and spoken) and English (written) communication skills are essentials.
Requirements
