Learning Design Specialist (2986) – NAIT

Temporary position ending on or before March 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Under the direction of the Manager of Learning Experience Design, you will collaborate with Academic Quality, Operational Excellence, and relevant Schools and Departments to develop courses for multiple programs at NAIT following best practices for online / blended delivery, outcomes‑based education, and other relevant policies and procedures. Your responsibilities include collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop course plans, activities, storyboards, assessments, instructor guides, PPTs, guides for synchronous sessions, and other supporting course materials required for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple course developments.
• Provide project updates to stakeholders.
• Update and maintain project related documentation.
• Identify and request resources.
• Develop outcome‑based learning content that aligns with provided course outcomes.
• Collaborate with SMEs.
• Assist in the development of deliverables and schedules.
• Design learning delivery (concepts, skills, issues, activities, assessments, etc.).
• Incorporate appropriate educational technologies.
• Create instructor guides.
• Ensure materials align with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and NAIT standards.
• Work with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency.
• Build course content into the current Learning Management System (LMS).

Qualifications

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

Remuneration

$71,098.04 – $95,372.94 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Advisor / Specialist II).
