As a Junior Recreation Leader, you will assistthe Recreation Leader with all aspectsofprogram leadership and supervision ofparticipantsinchildren and youthprograms.

Such programs may include general recreation and / or social programs, special events, and day camp and outdoor programs.

Primary duties include :

• Assist co-leaders and programmers in the development and implementation ofmeaningfulplans and activities.
• Provide leadershipfor recreational and / or social programs that focus on social and skill-based outcomes.
• Assistleader / instructor in keeping a safe environment for programparticipants.
• Prepare equipment and supplies required for activities with daily set up and clean up.
• Be a role model to youth volunteers and participants.
• Maintainprogramrecordsandassistwithprogramevaluation.
• Maintain a highdegreeofcustomerservice.

Qualifications

• Minimum15 yearsofage.
• Previousvolunteerorprogramleadershipexperience working with children and planning children's programs, such as volunteering, babysitting, and coaching, will be considered an asset.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have participated in Youth Leadership Coursesand / orHighFive Principles of Healthy Child Development(PHCD) certificationorotheragencyprovidingyouthleadershiptraining.
• You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate an enthusiastic, positive attitude.
• You are able to work effectively as a team member and are reliable and flexible.
