Parks Labourer Student

We are accepting applications for two full-time Parks Labourer Students to join our Parks team for a four-month term, starting in May 2026 . The Parks Labourer Student performs a variety of outdoor activities including, but not limited to, the operation and maintenance of the CVRD’s parks and trails and helping to educate the public on park rules. Reporting to the Senior Parks Technician, the primary responsibilities of this role include :

• Performing a variety of general labour activities including garbage pick-up, sweeping, removing invasive species, cleaning, painting, shoveling and other labour-related tasks within the CVRD parks;
• Operating various light trucks, small equipment and hand tools;
• Constructing and maintaining trails in park settings;
• Carrying out safe work practices, reporting unsafe situations and implementing emergency procedures as directed;
• Interacting with and educating the public on the regional district’s bylaws pertaining to parks;
• Assisting with routine maintenance in all parks as required.

The hours of work for these positions will be 8 : 30 am to 4 : 30 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work as needed .
