From our vibrant office in Downtown Vancouver, we offer audit, tax, valuation, and advisory services to a diverse global client base. You’ll have the chance to work with clients across industries, including mining and exploration, cryptocurrency and blockchain ventures, cannabis companies, technology startups, and publicly listed and pre‑IPO companies.
About The Role
We’re expanding our Public Company Audit Team and looking for a Senior Manager/Principal to lead high-impact IT audit and advisory engagements across a diverse client base of private and publicly traded companies. In this fully client-facing role, you’ll become a go-to expert in IT risk and controls — from SOX/ICFR and ITGCs to cybersecurity, cloud, and system implementation assurance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end IT audit, SOX, and technology risk engagements across diverse industries.
- Oversee planning, scoping, project management, budgeting, staffing, and delivery of complex engagements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level client stakeholders.
- Review and approve workpapers, testing procedures, and deliverables for accuracy, clarity, and technical excellence.
- Provide senior-level insights on IT general controls, application controls, cybersecurity governance, cloud architectures, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with clients to strengthen their IT control environments by shaping smart control design, streamlining governance, exploring automation opportunities, and driving effective remediation.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving technologies including cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), IAM, ERP systems, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Advise clients on technology transformations, system implementations, and risks associated with digital initiatives.
- Champion innovation within the practice, including data analytics, automation, and AI-driven audit enhancements.
- Support performance management, hiring decisions, and progression planning within the Public Company Audit Team.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance culture aligned with Davidson’s values.
- Contribute to the growth of the Public Audit group through proposal development, thought leadership, and networking.
- Help elevate the practice by identifying new advisory opportunities, enhancing tools and methodologies, and mentoring team members.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
- Professional designation such as CISA, CPA, or CIA; additional certifications like CISSP or CRMA are assets.
- 7–12+ years of experience leading IT audit, IT compliance, SOX-related assessments, technology risk, cybersecurity, or advisory roles.
- Proven track record of managing IT assurance engagements, leading teams, and building trusted client relationships.
- Deep expertise in compliance frameworks (SOX, PCAOB, COSO, COBIT) and ITGC best practices.
- Strong familiarity with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft D365), cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and IAM platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with executives, boards, and audit committees.
- Proactive problem-solver with strong judgment and business acumen.
- Curious, adaptable, and energized by emerging technologies and evolving risks.
- Relationship-builder who delivers clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
Benefits
- Comprehensive health coverage starting day one.
- $1,000/year mental health support.
- Four weeks of vacation to start.
- Performance-based bonuses.
- Hybrid flexibility: mix of work-from-home and in-office (at least three days a week).
- $300 wellness credit + $250 monthly commuting & connectivity allowance.
- Global client exposure.
- Team events, themed days, and lively social culture.
