Job Scope : Join our dynamic and rapidly expanding organization where analytics plays a pivotal role in our strategic vision. As the Data Engineering Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and shape our Data Engineering and Integration Team, contributing directly to our organization’s growth and our commitment to harnessing the power of data analytics.
What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead, manage, and mentor a growing team of Data EngineersFoster a cohesive, collaborative and inclusive work environmentDevelop training plans for the technical advancement of your teamParticipate in the hiring, onboarding and training of new employeesConduct annual performance evaluations and provide regular performance feedbackEffectively communicate with business users to elicit and gather requirements for BI projectsResearch, create, and apply effective methods for data mining, data cleansing, and information analysisDevelop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and resource allocationWhat You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements :
BA / BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or PhysicsProven ability to lead and provide technical direction to a team of 3+ software developers and or data engineers in a virtual work settingExperience mentoring co-op students and recent university graduatesMust reside in Canada, and have the ability to travel to Cooper Equipment Rental’s Head Office in Mississauga, ON or other locations when required (10% travel time expected)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex technical issuesAbility to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organizationAbility to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilitiesAbility to lead and inspire a team, cultivating a culture of innovation and high performanceMethodical, organized, detail and research orientedAutomate-everything” attitudeExperience designing and implementing solutions using data analytics technologies and BI platformsExperience building data visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BIFamiliar with relational database technologies and database conceptsNice to have :
