Position : Casual Withdrawal Management Workers

Location : Castlegar and Williams Lake, BC

Hours : Casual / On-Call 8-hour shifts, weekdays and weekends

Summary :

Axis Family Resources Ltd. is recruiting Casual Withdrawal Management Workers for our Withdrawal Management Programs located in Castlegar and Williams Lake.

Reporting to the RN Manager, this role is best suited for empathetic individuals with an interest in a harm reduction approach and an eagerness for working with individuals who are experiencing substance use disorder and or mental health concerns.

Catering to marginalized members of the population suffering from substance use disorders, our Withdrawal Management Program provide a holistic person-centered approach to the opiate OD epidemic.

Our facilities (5-bed in Williams Lake and 8-bed in Castlegar) employs a dynamic and multidisciplinary team who work to together provide the warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment essential to a healthy recovery.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • A certificate or diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or other related discipline
  • Training in Introductory mental health and substance use
  • 1-year experience in social services
  • Related experience in working with vulnerable populations or behavioural challenges will also be considered an asset (please outline type of experience in the message to the employer’ section during the application process)
  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver’s licence
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered)
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
