Embedded Software & Electronics Designer – Ozone Generator Systems
Location : Edmonton, Alberta (On-site preferred; hybrid considered for exceptional candidates)

Key Responsibilities
Embedded Firmware Development
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for ozone generator control systems (Arduino, ARM, STM32, ESP32, or similar microcontrollers).
- Implement control algorithms for high-voltage power delivery, temperature regulation, PID loops, and safety interlocks.
- Develop communication protocols such as UART, RS485 / Modbus, CAN, I2C, SPI, and WiFi.
- Integrate sensors (temperature, pressure, voltage, current, flow) into stable and safe firmware operation.
Electronics & PCB Design
Design next-generation control PCBs, including schematic capture, layout, testing, and validation.Work with external PCB manufacturers to transition prototypes into production-ready units.Improve the reliability, simplicity, and serviceability of existing PCB designs.Select components suitable for high-voltage, industrial environments with appropriate thermal and EMI considerations.System Integration
Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to integrate control systems into ozone generators.Support production by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks and improving workflow efficiency.Develop automated test procedures and diagnostic features for PCBs and complete systems.Product Innovation
Participate in roadmap planning for new ozone generator models.Contribute to modular ozone system design and centralized control architecture.Develop hardware and firmware for remote monitoring, cloud connectivity, and data logging.Identify and recommend new technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded firmware development (C, C++, RTOS).Strong electronics / PCB design experience using KiCad, Altium, or Eagle.Experience with RS485 / Modbus, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, or WiFi communication interfaces.Understanding of power electronics, high-voltage systems, PWM, drivers, and thermal management.Ability to debug complex hardware-software interactions using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related tools.Preferred Assets
Experience with industrial equipment, HVAC, medical devices, or high-voltage systems.Knowledge of ozone generation, oxygen systems, or plasma technologies.Familiarity with EMI / EMC design principles and mitigation.Experience developing IoT-based remote-monitoring platforms (MQTT, REST APIs, etc.).Understanding of safety, compliance, and certification requirements.Soft Skills
